A double sided sticky tape will work for indoor applications if a permanent screw cannot be used. Quick and easy to use After years of using the little plastic rope light clips I got tired of having to replace them when they broke and the rope light started to droop. I drilled small holes into the bottom ridge of the mounting track and screwed it to the wood soffit and edge of my metal screen room roof braces. I installed my crown moulding with a 4″ gap below the ceiling to place a rope light behind it. My initial idea was to just set the light in the V made by the moulding and wall but this did not work, the rope light would not stay in place and the light it cast (led) was not even.To solve this I took these tracks and cut them into 12″ strips on my miter saw which made a very clean cut.
