The small fan is great for a small space where the fan will hit … I purchased the small and medium fan. They are both so close in size and didn’t know which to pick. The small has 2 speeds, the large has 3. The lowest speed will most likely not be used because it’s too low and equivalent to someone standing next to you and blowing in your face…The small fan is great for a small space where the fan will hit you directly – like a desk. Great fan. Cheap motor. I really, really want to love this fan. It’s looks great in our home which was originally built in the 40’s and recently remodeled with a blend of vintage and modern finishes, just like this fan. It’s small enough to not be obnoxious and moves air around a room quite nicely, which is very important when living in a home without AC during the few days we really need it here in Seatle.
