Well… it’s somewhat OK for the basement … Well…it’s somewhat OK for the basement. I don’t want even start on how cheap, fragile, and reckless engineering/design – it feels and looks. It took more that 2 hours for my male friend to fix this ugly lamp to the 9.5 feet ceiling /and i still see 5 feet away all ugly small base of the lamp/all screws labels, and holes.Plus the glass dish don’t cover even regular medium A-19 lamp=it sticking out and blinding people. I will replace later on ,but for now….after such a trouble let it be…
Ok as a replacement shade for older fixtures. Used only the cover from this to replace the ugly square generic covers/shades also made by Westinghouse. I did NOT use the fixture. The square ones looked like something that belonged in grandma’s house. These are much nicer. Unfortunately they are not super deep so in a low room on my old 3 light fixtures you can see the lights peak out the top as you walk in. But still better than the squares. It was worth the low cost, and the best option I could find. I also tried another round…
Not semi-flush and flimsy. First off it works, but it is hard to mess up a bare socket. If you just need a light and don’t care about aesthetics or quality, great buy. This light is labeled “semi-flush”. I interpreted that as almost flush. It is no where close to flush. It is not hanging in my face but Incan see the bulbs and assembly with ease. This is so flimsy the shade threatens to bend the bracket that is holding it. I am worried that I might be able to put too much torque on the shade…
